How to engage managers and staff in risk problem- solving and prioritisation. This seminar, presented by Dr Dean Myburgh, will outline the advantages of adopting both a "hard" and a "soft" approach to risk management and organisation resilience. The "soft" approach incorporates organisation development techniques that facilitate organisational thinking about risk processes, practices and culture. The process of engaging management and staff in 'Whole-Brained Thinking' about risk will be also be discussed. He holds Directorships in two consultancies, 80-20 Options NZ Limited and Emergency Planning Limited. Dean is a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Management, and has held senior leadership roles in public and private sector organizations, both within New Zealand and abroad. He has also provided both internal and external consultancy services to organizations and was a member of the Committee that prepared the NZ Handbook Risk Management for Local Government (SNZ HB 4360:2000) for the Standards NZ Council.
